The Bastions - Valletta - Malta
Valletta is a city
surrounded by bastions. They were used to protect Valetta
from the enemies like the Turks. The bastions where cut in the rocks so when enemies tried to go in they couldn't. Now the bastions are there but we
don't need them because we don't have war any more. They are very high and massive and so they were impossible to climb.
By Mae and AidenValletta (The capital city of Malta) is surrounded with large huge walls (Bastions). These fortifications were built in 1565 by the knights of Malta and we're founded by Grand Master Jean De Vallette. These huge buildings or defensive walls were built to protect the capital city from any invasion by the enemies. Valletta's bastions are considered as the most important fortifications of Malta and they are also listed on the UNESCOs world heritage sights.
