Interesting Places in Marsaskala: Briconet Ridoubt
Briconet Ridoubt was built in 1715 by the order of
Saint John as one of a beach side fortifications around the Maltese islands. It
formed part of the defences
of Marsaskala bay. It
consists of a shape platform and a rectangular house shut off the deep narrow
alley. Not like other redoubts the deep narrow alley and beach sides have high
wall stuck by a way out. These were built to defend the redoubt from an attack.
Until the 21st century, this building was used as the marsascala police
station. Today it is a public monument.
